Dynasties
Social Media & Content Lead
BBC One & BBC iPlayer
It was my honour to lead BBC One’s social campaign for Sir David Attenborough’s series about five families of animals.
Working with BBC Earth, we complied with strict editorial policy, while relaying facts about the impact of humans of the lives of animals.
“All the animals we’ve seen in this series need space in which to live and loss of space is a great threat to their survival as it is to virtually all other species.”

A legal basis for parody
From a complex conversation between legal, music rights and social leadership, I pulled off a parody video of The Lion King using Dynasties footage. We assessed the risk, and I had to prove to legal that this video was amusing enough to be considered parody!
The BBC’s scene was an incredible fit, telling almost exactly the same story, and it was at the same time as Disney’s live action remake was getting attention.
Digital world building
Working with BBC Earth, I commissioned exclusive ‘what happened next’ videos to publish on social media after each episode of the Dynasties series.
We knew David’s story was especially moving, so it was amazing to be able to share these stories, beyond the scope of the episodes that aired.
Simply does it
Sometimes the simplest ideas for social work the best. And we all know a cute, fluffy penguin or lion cub is going to do numbers.
While live tweeting the episodes, my aim was to ‘feel’ with the audience and anticipate how they’d be talking about the most compelling moments of the series.
